Christmas in Literature Lessons
Christmas in Literature! A fun sequence of activities based around three extracts:
A Christmas Carol
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
Tasks include analysis, annotation and comparisons and build to a creative writing task. It should cover two lessons so perfect for the last week of term! Mostly suitable for KS3 but could be adapted to KS4.
Romeo and Juliet - Act 1 Scene 4 Lesson
A fully resourced lesson on Romeo and Juliet, Act 1 Scene 4, with detailed focus on the Queen Mab speech. This includes a powerpoint with instructions and students worksheet. It offers a range of activities: quote analysis, paragraphs, character sketch and labeling, speech annotation.
Perfect for any GCSE Literature specification or a high ability Year 9.
I have also included a link to a youtube tutorial which would be great as a revision aid for students later on.
Setting in Chapter 1 of Jekyll and Hyde

Macbeth - Witches Essay Model Response
Macbeth - Function of the witches essay with model answer.
Approximately 1000 word discursive essay about the function and the importance of the witches integrating relevant contextual discussion. The essay covers form, the opening of the play, King James’ fascination with witches, Middleton’s later edits and the witches as catalysts of the plot.
Suitable for GCSE or A Level Literature. Could be used as a style guide, a revision tool or a class marking exercise.
